Welsh Cricket Association
This Association was formed in the winter of 1959, the first Umpires’
Association to be formed in Wales, at the request of the Pembroke County
Cricket Club.

Under the guidance of Major Tim Protheroe-Beynon, a nucleus of members who had
already qualified under the Association of Cricket Umpires, the Pembrokeshire
Association was formed and has gradually expanded to its present size, and almost
all the Clubs in Pembrokeshire now provide members who wish to take up Umpiring.
These members receive training in the Winter months and are encouraged to take
local examinations, followed by National examinations if so desired.
